- Strain and top: Strain into a shot glass and top with a small splash of lemon-lime soda.
- Serve immediately: Garnish with a lemon wedge if desired and enjoy!
Pro Mixing Tips
The green tea adds authentic tea flavor and natural sweetness that elevates the classic recipe. Make a big batch of tea ahead of time and keep it chilled for easy party prep. Fresh lemon juice is better than bottled sour mix—just mix equal parts lemon juice and simple syrup. The soda adds fizz and lightness, so add it last and don't shake it in. For the smoothest shot, use quality Irish whiskey—it makes a difference!
Variations
Green Tea Bomb: Serve as a bomb shot—drop a shot glass of the mixture into a glass of lemon-lime soda.
Mocktail Green Tea Shot: Omit alcohol, use 1 oz green tea concentrate, 1 oz peach juice, 1/2 oz lemon juice, top with soda.
Spicy Green Tea Shot: Add a tiny pinch of cayenne or ginger for heat.
Honey Green Tea Shot: Add 1/4 oz honey syrup for extra sweetness.
Batch Recipe for Parties
To serve 10-12 shots: Brew 2 cups of concentrated green tea and chill completely. In a pitcher, combine chilled tea, 6 oz Jameson, 6 oz peach schnapps, and 6 oz sour mix. Keep refrigerated. When ready to serve, shake individual portions with ice and top each with a splash of soda. This keeps the fizz fresh!
Perfect Occasions
Green Tea Shots are perfect for birthday parties, bachelorette parties, St. Patrick's Day celebrations, tailgates, bar nights, or any festive gathering. They're a crowd-pleaser that goes down smooth and gets the party started. The tea twist makes them a unique conversation starter!
Serving Suggestions
Serve in standard shot glasses with lemon wedges on the side. For a fun presentation, line up shots on a tray with fresh mint or lemon garnishes. Chill shot glasses in the freezer beforehand for an extra-cold experience. Always enjoy responsibly and never drink and drive.
Fun Facts
Despite the name, the classic Green Tea Shot doesn't actually contain tea—it's named for its light green color from the peach schnapps. Our version adds real green tea for authentic flavor, antioxidants, and a unique twist that sets it apart from the standard recipe!
